Leadership training program for new government officers…

The Government has decided to direct 50,000 new recruits to the public sector attend to ‘Leadership and Motivation’ program conducted by the Army.

Accordingly, the training program of Army under the instructions of the Chief of Defense Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva was launched yesterday (14) at the Security Forces Headquarters, Regiment Centers, Army Units and Training Schools island wide.

This is being implemented on the instructions of the President on behalf of 50,000 graduates recruited to the public sector by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor’ policy statement.

The first stage of this month-long residential program, which will be implemented in five phases, will involve 10,000 graduates for the training program.  This program is implemented to cover 50,000 graduates recruited under 5 stages.  Minimizing potential impediments to public productivity through topics such as ‘Promoting Leadership and Group Activity’, ‘Management Training’, ‘Institutional Training in the Private and Public Sector’, ‘Project Activities and Field Studies’, and ‘Coexistence and Opportunity for Opportunity’.  It is expected to produce an efficient public sector employee.  A successful graduate who completes this program will develop training management skills, a clear understanding of the purpose of the public sector, interest and commitment, self-confidence, innovation, flexibility, innovation and become an efficient public sector officer who will be respected and accepted by the society is expected.

 

Under the coordination of the Army Training Board, this program is implemented to promote the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the graduates recruited to the public service to intensify their contribution to nation building as a trained, efficient workforce.  This program is carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense and is coordinated by the Army Headquarters.
