As of yesterday (04) alone, 4727 deaths had been reported in the country. Yesterday, Sri Lanka also recorded the highest number of corona deaths in a single day (82 deaths). On previous day also reported 74 corona deaths and the total number of corona deaths reported in Sri Lanka in the last two days was 154.
Specialist Dr. Manilka Sumanathika, Vice President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, says that according to the current situation in the country, there is a tendency for three of Covid infected person is to die in every hour.

This is the second time in the seven days since the 29th that more than 2,500 people have been infected daily.
Specialist Dr. Manilka says that although the vaccination program is progressing fast in the current situation, it has taken a long time for a person to get the immunization from the virus.
