Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam who is the Ceylon Tamil Congress leader said that the government should take steps to protect the Tamil people from microfinance institutions.
He said that the then President and the present Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was responsible for the suicides of Tamil people after the war. Because of he was the founder of this institutions. He further said Prime Minister should have stopped that institutions what he started.
He was speaking in Parliament today (09) during the adjournment debate on Central Bank allocations.
He had pointed out that although the government had said that land problem would be issued, land grabbing in the North and East would continue and that Tamil lands in many parts of the North had been taken over by the Army and were being cultivated and handed over to the Sinhalese.
