Parliament is banned for journalist…

With the expansion of Covid 19, Parliament has continued for the past few days  for the 20th Amendment to the Constitution. The next day, there was a debate on the Covid 19 virus.

The Parliament complex was closed for two days and disinfected due to Covid infection of a Parliamentary security officer and a Parliamentary employee. Meanwhile, it was revealed yesterday that Covid was also positive for a journalist who went to cover the parliamentary affairs. He underwent a PCR test at a private hospital, he was diagnosed with Covid. However, he was did another PCR test at a government hospital to confirm that.

This is because a journalist of a government media channel was recently diagnosed with Covid infection at a private hospital, but later confirmed that it was not at a government hospital.

However, the Government Information Department said in a statement yesterday that all journalists involved in the media coverage of the last 21/22 parliament should be self-quarantined and that the public health inspector in their area should be contacted immediately.

Meanwhile, Parliament convened yesterday (29). The Committee on Parliamentary Affairs decided to read and pass the Appropriation Bill for the second and third time on November 12 for the service expenditure for the financial year 2020.

Meanwhile, due to the Covid 19, it was decided at next week’s Parliamentary functions to be limited to one day only.

Accordingly, Parliament will convene on November 03 from 10 am to 12 noon only.

No time will be allotted for the question session which is expected to be answered orally by the MPs on that day.

Meanwhile, it has been decided not to allow anyone other than Members of Parliament, invited officers, security personnel and staff to enter the Parliament complex on the day of Parliament.

Accordingly, media representatives will also not be allowed to enter the Parliament premises to cover parliamentary proceedings.
