CEB want new structural change…

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) needs a structural change to replace the outdated management of the CEB administration, said the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) General Employees Union.

The Ceylon Electricity Board General Employees Union stated this when they met the Minister of Power and Energy Dullas Alahapperuma at the Ministry yesterday (23).

He also drew the attention of the Minister to a letter regarding the 2021 salary revision sent to the General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board.  He pointed out to the Minister that the three-year annual salary revision for electricity employees is due in 2021 but no preparations have been made yet.  Therefore, the immediate commencement of discussions regarding the 2021 Salary Review, the awarding of Ceylon Electricity Board service contracts and the procurement of a large number of vehicles on a contract basis, the loss incurred by the Ceylon Electricity Board due to the acquisition of electricity from private power plants and the relevant agreements should be taken into consideration.  The Ceylon Electricity Board General Employees Union pointed out with facts.

Malaka Wickramasinghe, President of the Ceylon Electricity Board Employees Union said that the CEB also discussed with the Minister the outdated management principles or the failure of the management principles to create conflicts between groups of workers.
