Why is the Minister of Health silent about the closure of the PCR center at the airport?

Samagi Jana Balawega MP Tissa Attanayake questions the Health Minister’s silence on the closure of the PCR center at the airport.

He was speaking at a press conference held at the office of the Leader of the Opposition.

Due to the Covid epidemic, all people who come to this country are exposed to PCR. They were interrogated and sent to quarantine.

Countries of the world, without everyone staying in hotels  advanced agronomic methods were introduced to bring people safely into the country. It was made public in the media that such an atrocity was started at our airport. A system had been created to conduct P.C.R tests and detain people at the airport and issue the report within three hours. Foreign tourists were charged $ 40 for PCR and it is free of charge to local and expatriate workers. they had been given the opportunity to go home after issuing the test results.

Before this operation, a large mafia was operating in the vicinity of the airport. A large sum of money was embezzled in the name of hotel quarantine. A business group and officials, together with hotel owners, exploited people. When the quarantine program is activated, two or three lakhs will be charged from one person for quarantine. The money earned for six or seven months in the Middle East had to be given to hotels.

This is why we called for the removal of the hotel quarantine mafia. Now the PCR at that airport. Investigations have been stopped. The government has not been able to stop this hotel mafia and quarantine mafia. The government is under the control of crooked businessmen.

Re-establish the $ 5 million worth PCR Center. It is the responsibility of the government to stop the hotel mafia immediately. Why are officials including the Minister of Health silent? We urge the government to take immediate action in this regard.
