The government has decided to cremated an unidentified bodies infected with the Covid virus by Government expense.
The President got that decision after highest court rejected a petition challenging the cremation of people dying from the plague.
The day after the appointment of a new Minister of State in charge of Covid Disease Control, the Director General of the Disaster Management Center, retired Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, issued a press release on Tuesday (December 1) announcing the unidentified death toll from Covid-19 infected prisoners will burn by Government.
