There is no one to tell my troubles – Minister of State Surshani Fernandopulle

 

The State Department of Primary Health Care Epidemiology and Epidemiology said that there was no one to blame for the injustice done to them and that there were many people who had lost their husbands, children and relatives due to terrorism, but that human rights advocates did not come forward to speak up for their rights. Ministerial Specialist Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle says.

She was speaking at the 13th commemoration of former Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle at the Weliweriya Jeyaraj Fernandopulle Memorial.

On April 7, 2008, the then Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, who was on his way to start the marathon at the Avurudu Wasantha Udana in Gampaha at the Kanthi Stadium in Weliweriya, was assassinated by a terrorist who had targeted him. Many more were killed and many more were injured.

Speaking at the commemoration of her husband, the Minister said that human rights activists were advocating for the interests of the Tamil Diaspora, but that there was no one to blame for the injustice done to them. That lives will never come back.

She says that all political leaders of the country should work together to protect this country and their children and children, and that a program should be formulated to end terrorism under any name.
