Attorney General Keheliya Rambukwella, Attorney-at-Law representing the Government of Sri Lanka, has stated that the Port City Act is fully compliant with the Constitution without any prejudice.

He said this while addressing a media briefing held in Kandy yesterday (18).

He added that the US ambassador had said that black money could be brought to the port city and that there were contradictory rumors that a number of Americans were ready to invest in the port city.

“The Attorney General has stated that the Port City Act is constitutional and there is no legal impediment to it. That is why it has been included in the Theory Book and is being prepared for debate in Parliament.
