The government’s attempt to remove the PCR tests at the Katunayake airport from the government health service and hand it over to the private sector has been suspended.
The government and the trade unions have reached an agreement to rectify the deficiencies in the airport without removing the molecular biological laboratory at the airport.
The agreement was reached during a discussion between Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga and the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists and Professionals on Thursday, April 01.
