Until then, only Sri Lankans infected with Covid who came to Sri Lanka from abroad were found.
At present quarantine centers are also full of Sri Lankans from abroad. There are many expatriate Sri Lankans who have not yet been brought to Sri Lanka and the problems they face are innumerable. At present more than 2600 Sri Lankans are living abroad with Covid infection.
About 350 Sri Lankans, especially in garment factories in Jordan, are currently infected with the Covid 19 virus. One of them is now dead. The virus has spread as a result of staying in the same hostel, and all of them are currently being held at a special medical center set up near the Dead Sea coast, the Bureau of Foreign Employment said. The Jordanian Embassy in Jordan will look into the matter.
Meanwhile, 63 Sri Lankan workers have been died in the Middle East since the beginning of the Covid 19 expansion.
