In this year, GCE A/L failed graduates will join to the medical sector…

Wasantha de Alwis, Media Spokesman of the Medical Faculty Students ‘Parents’ Association says that 100 foreign medical graduates who have failed the GCE Advanced Level and those who have not passed the GCE Advanced Level and obtained foreign medical degrees are due to join the Sri Lanka Medical Field this year.

Of these foreign medical graduates, 81 are non-recognized foreign medical graduates and 19 are GCE Advanced Level failed graduates. Mr. Alwis points out that those who have failed the GCE Advanced Level examination and obtained foreign medical degrees are the helpless patients in this country who will have to experience the consequences of admitting unqualified medical graduates to the medical field.

He also states that it is the duty of all to prevent a group of unqualified medical graduates from entering the medical field and to protect the free health service of the country of tomorrow.
