Hambantota General hospital suspended cancer vaccine…

 

In the last month, two cancer patients died suspiciously who were receiving residential treatment in Hambantota District Hospital.

That patients were got residential treatments in the Hambantota District Hospital and after given vaccine of cancer, to them they were died. The director of the Hambantota District Hospital, Dr. Suranga Ubeysiri said that, vaccine has been suspended.

According to the Hospital sources, first patient who was treated at the Hospital under registration number 154/2020 named as D.S. Malani who was lived in the Dikwella and second patient was registered at No.160/2020 named as D.S. Sominona.

The Hambantota Hospital administration has stopped giving the vaccine to the patients and they find out whether the vaccine had caused to the death. Hambantota Hospital Director Dr. Suranga Ubeywarna said that the Ministry of Health has been informed to take further action regarding the vaccine.

The Director of the hospital further said that there are a number of companies that import drugs to Sri Lanka and they have huge competition among each other.
