Former Minister Patali Champaka says that the government is operating in a manner that does not have a brain or a heart.
He pointed out that children of the country lost equality in education which has been struggled years to built, as they face disturbance in access regular education since more than a year. It has caused to create huge gap among children and differentiate them as children with or without smart phones, with or without data and with or without signals. Although the government would be able to solved these problems easily, it has not done so far.
He said that both the removal of obstacles to the food production process and the strengthening of the distribution mechanism will not take place and that shortage of fertilizer has arisen today due to the simultaneous cessation of chemical fertilizers, which will lead to a crisis in all plantation sectors such as rice and grain in the future.
He alleges that the government does not have a mechanism to sell the agri-products of farmers’ and the
townspeople have no way to get the foodgrain. In addition to the epidemic, there is a risk of famine in the future.
He further says that the country is collapsing due to pomposity of rulers’.
He express these views at a media briefing took part in Colombo yesterday (20).
