The Colombo High Court today indicted Ganiya Barrister Francis, an employee of the Swiss Embassy, for allegedly providing false information to the government.
Barcelona Fancis, a resident of Maligawatta, who was working at the Swiss Embassy in Maligawatta, was abducted and sexually abused in the Cinnamon Gardens area. A written complaint was lodged on November 27 sexually assaulted and detained for several hours after questioning about issuing a visa to Nishantha Silva who was a CID Inspector.
However, the Attorney General alleges that such an incident did not take place during the police investigations and that it was a complaint based on false information.
The case is set to return to court on June 4
