Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has been released from a case filed on the Breach of Trust.
Cabraal was released on a surety of Rs. 10 million when the case was taken up for hearing today.
A case was filed against Cabraal on the Breach of Trust by Chief Prelate of Nugegoda Nalandaramaya Venerable thiniyawala Palitha Thero.
In April 2021, the Thero had filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court against Cabraal for allegedly embezzling more than Rs. 23 billion
