The Department of Posts has decided to increase the charges for airmails, Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne said.
Ariyaratne said that the hike in charges will come into effect from the 01st of August 2022.
Meanwhile, the restriction on postal goods from four countries has been further extended.
The Department earlier suspended the acceptance of postal goods from the United States, the Netherlands, Israel, and Russia.
Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne the suspension was imposed as a result of the restriction of flights due to the fuel crisis in Sri Lanka.
