A disciplinary inquiry on Jagath Kumara

Jagath Kumara, a Member of Parliament for the SLPP, has been accused of criticizing two government ministers in front of the public media.

The General Secretary of the party Sagara Kariyawasam has told Lankadeepa that the disciplinary committee will meet immediately and take appropriate action against him.

It has taken too long because the Prime Minister is on a visit to Italy. He arrived in the country today (20) and the disciplinary committee is scheduled to meet in the future, party sources said.

Jagath Kumara had called a press conference recently and criticized the Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekera and the Minister of Power and Energy Gamini Lokuge.

They were accused for transferring the Padukka Police OIC. Based on this incident, Mr. Jagath Kumara had sent a letter to the President and resigned from the post of Chairman of the Padukka Regional Coordinating Committee on the 17th.

It is not a secret that there are conflicts of opinion among the ruling party MPs and ministers at present. The case of MP Jagath Kumara is a good example for this.
