The Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena says that although the gazette notification permitting the burial of corona bodies has been issued, the corona burial will not be allowed until the relevant guidelines are issued.
The Director General of Health Services says that a suitable place for burying the dead bodies has not been found yet – for that a land with a low ground water level should be found.
However, the doctor said that if the burial was essential, the body could be kept in a mortuary until the relevant guidelines were issued.
