Teachers’ union in the country has called for an inquiry into the use of school children by political party members who were arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail for political propaganda.
The Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU) says that the students of Panchankarni Vidyalaya in the Kalkudah Education Zone have joined Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pilleyan in their welcome ceremony using school uniforms and band instruments.
Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, said that the Ministry of Education and the Government had on several occasions made it clear that school bands should not be used in meetings of politicians and that school children should not be subjected to any external activities in the spread of the corona epidemic.
