The SLFP seat organizers have unanimously decided to leave the current government and join the opposition.
The decision was taken at a meeting of party organizers and managers at the party headquarters, chaired by former President Maithripala Sirisena. The SLFP leadership will come to a decision on the implementation of this decision after a discussion with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at 4 pm tomorrow, according to internal sources of the party.
Despite the consent of the SLFP organizers, former President Maithripala Sirisena has stated that this is not the right time to leave the government.
