She’s better, if it is not interfering in our internal affairs…

The report to be submitted to the 46th Session of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has now been submitted to the UN Human Rights Council in accordance with Resolution 1/40, which was co-sponsored by Sri Lanka. Earlier, both the Minister of External Affairs and Minister Udaya Gammanpila had stated that the government would reject the report on two times.

According to the 21st point of the report, Sarath Weerasekera, who served in the Navy, has been appointed as the Minister of Public Defense.

Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekera says that despite the threats made by the Human Rights Commissioner, she does not have such power.

He points out that such powers are vested only in the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, adding that the Human Rights Commission is only one branch of it.

Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekera has stated that she is interfering in the internal affairs of an independent country by making allegations of war crimes.

He said that although the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights had questioned the appointment of retired Generals and Admirals to official positions in Sri Lanka, she had not asked the US President to do so because the Tamil Diaspora and the West were plotting against Sri Lanka.

Therefore, it is better for her as long as she does not interfere in the internal affairs of our country, the Minister said.

He has questioned the whereabouts of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights when the LTTE was killing people indiscriminately.
