The Sri Lanka National Peace Council says that the government’s decision to allow the burial of covid infected bodies in the face of strong internal protests, despite a ten-month delay, will have a positive impact on discussions at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The National Peace Council has stated this in a statement. The decision will also help Muslim citizens in Sri Lanka feel that the government has finally responded to their deepest feelings.
