No any media repression by updating the Press Council Act…

Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has stated that there will be no media repression by updating the Press Council Act and template is being created in Indonesia and Malaysia in this regard.

A journalist asked at a cabinet media briefing yesterday (23) whether the revision of the Press Council would lead to media repression.  Replying to this, the Minister said that as the Ministry of Mass Media and Information, the Ministry of Mass Media and Information has a responsibility to protect the rights of nearly 22 million people in this country while protecting freedom of speech, freedom of speech and expression.
