The National Trade Union Center (NTUC) says that if the government’s response is to arrest teachers and members of teachers’ unions who have been engaged in peaceful protests demanding solutions to their problems under the guise of a quarantine law, that the combat action will have to be intensified in a democratic manner.
Its chairman K.D. Laal Kaantha has stated this by issuing a statement.
He says the National Trade Union Center (NTUC) strongly condemns the government’s response to leaders and members of Teachers’ union who have been peacefully protesting for 24 years for a solution to unresolved issues.
Therefore, the statement further calls for the immediate release of all arrested teachers, principals and union leaders and provide a solution to the teacher problem.
