Human Rights Commission launched probe on Ishalini’s death.

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has summoned a report from the IGP and the Chairperson of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) on the death of Ishalini Jude, who worked at the residence of former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen.

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has launched an investigation into complaints that the death of the girl was not being handled properly. Accordingly, the Human Rights Commission has called for a report on the progress of the investigations being carried out by the Sri Lanka Police and the National Child Protection Authority.

The Chairman of the Human Rights Commission Dr. Jagath Balasuriya has further stated in a letter that this report should be submitted before the 30th of this month.

Meanwhile, the mother of the deceased girl, R. Ms. Ranjani also complained to the Human Rights Commission that a fair and impartial inquiry should be held into her daughter’s death.
