Fear of intelligence chasing NGOs!

As government intelligence officials begin to openly collect the personal information of NGO activists, they fear for their lives.

“So where is our security? How do we do that? We have a lot of work to do. ”

Chandra Devanarayana of the Revolutionary Existence for Human Development (RED) made this statement at a media briefing held by the People’s Power Wall in Colombo on Tuesday 27 April.

Chandra Devanarayana, who has been involved in the rights and welfare of workers in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone for more than three decades, revealed to the media that a group of police intelligence officers visited his office last week and obtained all their personal information.

“They came to the agency and got all the information about what these people are doing, where they are getting help from, who they are working with. ”

Chandrara Devanarayana says that the police intelligence officers also visited his house and questioned under what law they came to his house and collected personal information.
