“Deterioration of human rights exacerbates economic crisis” – A commemoration ceremony of 73rd International Human Rights Day

A commemoration ceremony to mark the 73rd International Human Rights Day will be held today (December 17) at 2 pm at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall. The theme of the celebrations is “The deterioration of human rights exacerbates the economic crisis.”

Member of Parliament Eran Wickramaratne, , Prof. Rohan Samarajeewa, Rohana Hettiarachchi, Attorney-at-Law Prabodha Ratnayake, Attorney-at-Law Dulan Dassanayake will deliver short speeches at the event.

The short films ‘Bitter Darkness’ will also be screened which will show how the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka has affected the family unit. The event and forum is organized by the Right to Life Human Rights Center.Sri Lanka will be represented by human rights activists and civil society representatives.
