Civil society groups have accused the government of gradually dragging the country into military rule and turning it into a Myanmar state.
Attorney-at-Law Achala Seneviratne warned that the practice had created a very unfavorable situation for the people of the country and expressed concern that there was not enough opposition to the government’s policy of detention without trial.
