Applications are currently being invited for a youth camp organized by the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka with the aim of creating a human rights culture in the country by creating awareness about human rights among the youth.

 

The Commission has announced that the camp, which will be held under the theme ‘Covid-19 Impact and Problems Facing the Youth Community’, will target youths from all 25 districts.

 

Due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, this year’s youth camp will feature online webinar activities and a two-day residential camp.

 

Young people are selected for the youth camp to represent various ethnic and religious groups, as well as other groups, such as Telugu-speaking peoples, peoples of African descent, indigenous peoples, plantation communities, people with disabilities, and people in geographically isolated areas.  The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka further stated that

 

All applicants should be between 18-29 years of age and should be able to communicate in one of the languages ​​Sinhala, Tamil or English.

 

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) will provide all accommodation facilities during the camp and all costs will be borne by the HRCSL.

 

Applications can be obtained from the website of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (www.hrcsl.lk) or from the Regional Offices of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka.
