Mr. President, Lockdown decisions and the fun of the plagu

When our Hon. President came from Ambuldeniya yesterday, he saw many vehicles on the road. His keen observation is that many of these vehicles have the doctor’s logo on them. He therefore thinks that doctors are in hospitals and that the logo is being misused by other people.

If the President speaks, it shows his ignorance. Either his advisers are giving him incorrect advice. Or at times it shows his arrogance. That is his own question.

It is our responsibility as citizens to tell the President what he does not know or what his paid or unaccounted advisers do not say.

The President should know that not only doctors but all health workers affix his logo on their vehicles in various ways. The police know it too. It is not surprising that he feels the same way in a society where health seems to be doctors, as he has now shown that he does not know much. He also seems to be unaware that an injection program was held yesterday, giving the relatives of the doctors a special privilege. They also come in vehicles. Therefore, it is natural to have vehicles with doctor’s insignia affixed yesterday. Anyway, on a Sri Lankan road, you can see a lot of vehicles with that logo on them. According to him, the people in those professions know that the public has no ability to steal these logos. The President does not know.

However, in the end, the President has taken a decision on the day the travel restrictions will be relaxed based on the vision he saw. Those people should leave their vehicle at home and go to the shop to buy goods. Riding a bicycle or a motorcycle is prohibited.

This is a real slap in the face to the thousands of middle class who voted for him. The President said that decisions are made on the basis of research and modern technology based on what he sees while driving. How fortunate we are to have a President who makes decisions based on what he sees when he comes to the Presidential Secretariat from Ambuldeniya.

The decision will also have a profound effect on three-wheeler owners, who are a unique group of President voters who have been without any income for four days and are looking forward to finding out today. Mahinda Kahadagamage’s assistance to three wheeler owners. They also have a great deal of leasing concessions.

When questioned by the media regarding the decision taken on the President’s eyewitness account, Minister Johnston Fernando stated that the police will not enforce the law if people go by vehicle due to the long distance. He himself showed the extent of the President’s decisions.

Minister Johnston’s reply shows that decisions made by the President in consultation with himself and his entourage are baseless.

The President has gone down in history as the most reversed President in a short period of time. The big talk given by him and his most loyal military officers has been nonsense. It has been revealed that the import limit imposed to increase domestic production was done to appease its crony businessmen. Imports of sugar and coconut oil alone have increased exponentially.

As of this morning, the President’s decision is moving in the right direction. The government said in a statement that the army and the air force were using drones to search for violators. Vehicles plying on the road today show that the public is not afraid of government drones.

The President should not be further humiliated and should either appoint a group of advisers who will not mislead him. Then he was in the office in two minutes. He will not see any such nonsense.
