Hundreds of migrants try to immigrate to the UK

Hundreds of migrants continuously try to immigrate to the United Kingdom. According to the Home Office, 219 people in 11 boats on Wednesday and 175 in 06 boats on Thursday have arrived to the UK.
At least 430 migrants, including children, have attempted to immigrate to the UK on Monday, July 19. It is the highest value ever recorded for a single day.
A total of 8,461 migrants had previously applied for asylum in the UK by 2020 and 45,000 by 2019.
Many of these immigrants to the UK are refugees fleeing war or violence in their home country. But others are coming in with the hope of entering the UK illegally. Most of them are from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Many migrants seek asylum in the UK as soon as they can. In order to grant asylum to these immigrants, they must prove that they cannot return to their home country due to persecution due to factors such as race, religion or political opinion.
Immigrants try to cross the waterways between England and France in unsafe small boats. These waterways are the busiest shipping lines in the world. Boating can be described as less risky than other options used by migrants, such as hiding in lorry, container or train. But it is very dangerous to cross the sea using small boats. Also, many immigrants have to pay large sums of money to criminal gangs to travel.
However, the government says that refugees should seek asylum in the first country they reach, and not risk their lives to sail. Also, British MPs are now looking to change immigration and refugee laws, and the UK government is continuing to crack down on illegal immigrants through the Border Bill. A recent survey has revealed that many Britons support tough action against people entering the country illegally.
France says it is stepping up police patrols along its coast to stop illegal immigrants from entering the country. The UK government has announced an agreement with France to stop migrants from entering the UK in small boats. It is also revealed that more than 7,500 migrants have already been barred from entering the UK due to joint efforts with France.
However, the UK’s plans to stop entry into the country have been criticized by social service agencies. Therefore, they are concerned that if the country’s refugee policy and laws are too strict, people in need of UK assistance will not be able to access it.
