Fault in Lottery Board….

Serious mistake made by the Lotteries Board was recently exposed by the media.
That is, two tickets similar to the public resource have been issued on 31-12-2019.
This has been acknowledged by the Technical Division of the National Lotteries Board, said its Acting Director Kelum Priyankara in a note on his face book.
He said that a quick inquiry will be held into the printing of these tickets and the Board of Directors of the National Lotteries Board has instructed to formulate a suitable program to prevent the printing of such tickets in future.
He had also said that the National Lotteries Board was ready to pay the prize value for both tickets if any money was received for the tickets.
Meanwhile, the Public Rights Protection Foundation has lodged a written complaint with the Colombo CID.
The complaint was lodged by Asela Sampath, Director, Operations and National Organizer, Foundation for the Protection of Public Rights and Chirantha Amarasinghe, Media Director.
In this complaint, they have stated that they are aware that the numbering of the lottery printing process is done through computer systems and in such a background it is a matter of doubt in the society whether the printing of the same number twice is fraudulent, thereby causing a loss to the Board or a loss to the customer who buys the lottery. That is possible.
It is therefore requested that an immediate inquiry be held into the matter and that the report of the inquiry into the incident be made public to prevent such incidents from happening again and to prevent the breach of trust in the lottery.
