Establishment of Special Courts after the Acts Amendments
The Supreme Court has approved the implementation of the establishment of special three-pronged High Court to investigate large-scale financial crimes and frauds.

According to the Supreme Court, the present Bill has already been referred to the Attorney General for
amendment. However, the amendment bill will remain in force through a simple parliamentary majority and this Special High Court will be in place.

It is planned to establish three Special Courts in the first round in order to discuss the corruption and fraud cases that are currently being hurled up after the bill was passed. Minister Ajith P. Perera has said that the number of Courts will be increased in future according to necessity.
