Director-General - Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe
The Director-General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption, Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe, tendered her resignation Today, 17th October.
Speculation was rife that she would step down following comments by the President last week, and the furore that followed, but she had denied the rumours saying she would wait until she met with both the President and the Prime Minister.
President Sirisena is not in the country, having travelled to Goa in Indian to attend the BRICS Summit, and the Prime Minister is also out of the country, in Brussels, attempting a revival of GSP+ concessions.
But it is said that President Sirisena had informed his secretary to accept the resignation letter of the Director-General.
The DG was appointed by the President Sirisena on this position last year, on the 11th of February.
