Brigadier Priyanka an army officer convicted by the Westminister Magistrate Court for threatening death to Sri Lankan Tamil protesters in London who were protest infront of the Sri Lanka High Commission in London on the seventieth Independence Day of Sri Lanka has been given another promotion.

Brigadier Ajith Priyanka Indunil Fernando, the 15th Commander of the 58 Division, established at Sinhavilluwatta, Puttalam, has assumed duties on March 4, 2020.

Brigadier Fernando, the Commander-in-Chief of the Brigade, who had arrived at the Brigade Headquarters, was given a guard by the troops of the First Vijayabahu Regiment.

This is the second time he has been promoted in four months under the present administration.

He was appointed director of the Sri Lanka Armys Land, Property and Housing Unit last December.

The Westminster Magistrates Court has fined him more than four thousand pounds after the then Security advisor of the Sri Lanka High Commission in London was convicted of threatening death to Tamil protesters in London who were demanding an international investigation into war crimes.
